In the diagram, $HK$ is parallel to $QR$ , $PH = 4$ cm and $HQ = 3$ cm. What is the ratio $KR : PR$ ?

$PQ = PH + HQ = 4 + 3 = 7$ cm.
A line parallel to one side of a triangle divides the other two sides in the same ratio, so $KR : PR = HQ : PQ$ .
So $KR : PR = 3 : 7$ , option B.
