If f(x−4)=x2+2x+3f(x - 4) = x^2 + 2x + 3, find f(2)f(2).

Worked solution (try it first)
  1. f(2)f(2) needs x−4=2x - 4 = 2, so x=6x = 6.
  2. Put x=6x = 6 into the right-hand side: 62+2(6)+3=36+12+36^2 + 2(6) + 3 = 36 + 12 + 3.
  3. So f(2)=51f(2) = 51, option D.
