Solve the equation (x−2)(x−3)=12(x - 2)(x - 3) = 12.

Worked solution (try it first)
  1. Expand the left side: x2−5x+6=12x^2 - 5x + 6 = 12.
  2. Bring everything to one side: x2−5x−6=0x^2 - 5x - 6 = 0.
  3. Factorise: (x−6)(x+1)=0(x - 6)(x + 1) = 0, so x=−1x = -1 or x=6x = 6, option C.
