A trader bought goats for ₦4,000 each. He sold them for ₦180,000 at a loss of $25\%$ . How many goats did he buy?

He sold at a $25\%$ loss, so ₦180,000 is $75\%$ of the cost: cost $= 180\,000 \div 0.75 =$ ₦240,000.
Each goat cost ₦4,000, so the number of goats is $240\,000 \div 4000 = 60$ .
So he bought 60 goats, option D.
