Solid mensuration

A cylindrical tank has a capacity of $6160\text{ m}^3$ . What is the depth of the tank if the radius of its base is $28\text{ m}$ ? $\left[\pi = \frac{22}{7}\right]$

Worked solution (try it first)

Base area: $\pi r^2 = \frac{22}{7} \times 28^2$
$= 2464\text{ m}^2$ .
Volume = base area × depth, so the depth is $6160 \div 2464 = 2.5$ m, option D.
