Find the equation of the straight line which passes through (2,2)(2, 2) and (3,6)(3, 6).

Worked solution (try it first)
  1. The gradient is 6−23−2=4\dfrac{6 - 2}{3 - 2} = 4.
  2. Use y−y1=m(x−x1)y - y_1 = m(x - x_1) with (2,2)(2, 2): y−2=4(x−2)y - 2 = 4(x - 2), so y−2=4x−8y - 2 = 4x - 8.
  3. Add 2 to both sides: y=4x−6y = 4x - 6, option C.
