Coordinate geometry

Calculate the mid-point of the line joining $(8, -3)$ and $(-2, 3)$ .

Worked solution (try it first)

The midpoint is the average of the ends: add the coordinates and halve.
$x$ : $\frac{8 + (-2)}{2} = 3$ .
$y$ : $\frac{-3 + 3}{2} = 0$ .
So the midpoint is $(3, 0)$ , option C.
