Simplify (43−6)(43+6)(4\sqrt3 - 6)(4\sqrt3 + 6).

Worked solution (try it first)
  1. The brackets are (a−b)(a+b)(a - b)(a + b), a difference of two squares: a2−b2a^2 - b^2.
  2. Square each part: (43)2=16×3=48(4\sqrt3)^2 = 16 \times 3 = 48 and 62=366^2 = 36.
  3. So the value is 48−36=1248 - 36 = 12, option A.
