If $X = \{x : x < 7\}$ and $Y = \{y : y \text{ is a factor of } 24\}$ are subsets of $\mu = \{1, 2, 3, \ldots, 10\}$ , find $X \cap Y$ .

Worked solution (try it first)

$X$ is the members of $\mu$ less than 7: $\{1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6\}$ .
$Y$ is the factors of 24 in $\mu$ : $\{1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8\}$ .
The elements in both are $X \cap Y = \{1, 2, 3, 4, 6\}$ , option B.
