Find the probability of selecting a figure which is a parallelogram from a square, a rectangle, a rhombus, a kite and a trapezium.
Worked solution (try it first)
- A parallelogram has both pairs of opposite sides parallel.
- The square, rectangle and rhombus all have this.
- The kite has no parallel sides and the trapezium only one pair.
- So 3 of the 5 figures work, and the probability is , option A.
