Factorize completely $4abx - 2axy - 12b^2x + 6bxy$ .

Worked solution (try it first)

Every term has $2x$ : $2x(2ab - ay - 6b^2 + 3by)$ .
Group the bracket in pairs: $a(2b - y) - 3b(2b - y)$ .
Take out the common bracket: $(a - 3b)(2b - y)$ .
So the answer is $2x(a - 3b)(2b - y)$ , option D.
