Variation

$y$ is inversely proportional to $x$ and $y = 4$ when $x = \frac12$ . Find $x$ when $y = 10$ .

Worked solution (try it first)

Inverse proportion means $xy$ is constant: $k = \frac12 \times 4 = 2$ .
When $y = 10$ : $x = \dfrac{2}{10} = \dfrac15$ , option B.
