Factorize completely $9y^2 - 16x^2$ .

Worked solution (try it first)

Both terms are squares: $9y^2 = (3y)^2$ and $16x^2 = (4x)^2$ .
Use the difference of two squares: $A^2 - B^2 = (A - B)(A + B)$ .
So $9y^2 - 16x^2 = (3y - 4x)(3y + 4x)$ , option D.
