Find the area of the trapezium $PQRS$ , where $PQ = 7\text{ cm}$ , $SR = 13\text{ cm}$ and the height $PS = 6\text{ cm}$ .

Worked solution (try it first)

Area of a trapezium $= \frac12(a + b)h$ , with parallel sides 7 cm and 13 cm and height 6 cm.
So the area is $\frac12 \times 20 \times 6 = 60\text{ cm}^2$ , option C.
