  1. Add the eight numbers: 1.2+1.0+0.4+1.4+0.8+0.8+1.2+1.1=7.91.2 + 1.0 + 0.4 + 1.4 + 0.8 + 0.8 + 1.2 + 1.1 = 7.9.
  2. Divide by 8: 7.98=0.9875\frac{7.9}{8} = 0.9875.
  3. That is 1.0 to one decimal place, option C.
