If P={−3<x<1}P = \{-3 < x < 1\} and Q={−1<x<3}Q = \{-1 < x < 3\}, where xx is an integer, find P∩QP \cap Q.

Worked solution (try it first)
  1. The inequalities are strict, so the end numbers are left out.
  2. P={−2,−1,0}P = \{-2, -1, 0\}.
  3. Q={0,1,2}Q = \{0, 1, 2\}.
  4. Only 0 is in both, so P∩Q={0}P \cap Q = \{0\}, option A.
