If $x * y = x + y^2$ , find the value of $(2 * 3) * 5$ .

Worked solution (try it first)

Work out the bracket first, squaring the second number: $2 * 3 = 2 + 3^2 = 11$ .
Then $11 * 5 = 11 + 5^2 = 11 + 25 = 36$ , option A.
